- What do you (or your business) do?
I’m the president and CEO of Vivier Group, which is a multinational firm made up of several different financial companies, including Vivier Capital, Vivier & Co, and Vivier Ventures, to name just a few. We are still in the process of expansion, but the group of financial companies already offers services in locations throughout South America, Europe, Oceania, Asia, and Africa.
- How long have you been in business?
Vivier has been in existence since 2001, and the group has expanded from one entity originally to a group of six companies represented on five continents.
- How do you stay successful in your industry?
Innovation is necessary in every industry and every endeavor, so I’ve made a commitment to constantly reviewing everything pertaining to our policies and procedures to determine if there might be a better way forward. It is through this commitment to innovation and evaluation that I have been able to recognize outdated or inefficient practices in need of the kind of substantial change that will allow us to keep pace with a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
- Have you ever been to Australia?
Yes, I have been to Australia on many occasions. Vivier Group maintains a presence throughout Oceania, so I’ve had the opportunity to visit Australia for both business and pleasure.
- What part of Australia?
Mostly the southeastern portion of the country, mainly New South Wales and Victoria.
- What is your favorite restaurant to visit while in Australia?
There are actually a few I’d like to mention, and when traveling through Newcastle, I enjoy dining at both Subo and Rustica. Whereas in Melbourne I enjoy dining at Vue de Monde, EZARD, and Coda which are all great eating establishments.
- What is something someone must-do when in Australia?
Traveling via the Great Southern Rail, and then via The Ghan which is a wonderful way to see Australia. I highly recommend that every visitor to Australia seriously considers travelling on The Ghan, especially along the route which goes from Darwin to Adelaide.
- Would you come back?
Yes, and I have actually made recent plans to visit the region quite soon.
- Was it a business or pleasure trip?
I’m usually in the area on business, but I have visited Australia on vacation as well.
- What has travel taught you that you have applied in both your personal and business life?
Over time, every part of the world has developed its own unique way of doing things, which in my view underscores the idea that a multitude of solutions are always available to assist in overcoming any challenge. This simple fact has served as a reminder to me of the need to thoughtfully consider every possible solution before settling on a course of action, whether it pertains to my business or life in general.
